Lawmaker Thumbs Up For Wike
The member representing Khana/ Gokana Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt Hon Dumnamene Robinson Dekor, has described last Saturday’s local government election in Khana/ Gokana Local Government Area, in Rivers State, as peaceful and fair.
Hon. Dekoor said the peaceful conduct of the election was attributed to the achievement recorded by the Governor of Rivers State, Barr Nyesom Wike, adding that the projects and programmes of the state Governor impacted positively on the lives of the ordinary people in the state
The federal lawmaker stated this, last Saturday, in an interview with newsmen in Khana Local Government council, Bori.
He pointed out that due to the huge developmental strides recorded by the present government in the state, the people extended their love for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and embraced peace during the local government council elections.
“The elections were very fair, smooth and peaceful because of the achievements and programmes of the Governor in the state,” Dekor said.
The federal lawmaker who is also Chairman, House Committee on Host Communities, commended Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission, (RSIEC), saying that, “they were wonderful today for the way the elections were conducted”.
He further explained that, he was not surprised the way RSIEC conducted the election in his constituency, adding that, all those who served as electoral officers in RSIEC were credible people.
