A hotel owner in Rivers State, Mr Uche Onwe-vadu has appealed to the Executive Governor of Rivers State, Chief Nyesom Wike to provide adequate security for hotel owners and all those in the hospitality industry across the state.
Mr Onwevadu who is the MD of Led O.J Hotels and Suit, Rumuji made this appeal at the weekend in a chat with newsmen at Rumuji.
“If there is one appeal that I will like to make to Governor Wike and his team, it is all about improving the security architecture for hotel owners in Rivers State. In fact, Governor Wike and the State Commissioner for Police in the State, CP Friday Ebuka should convene a meeting with hotel owners on how to improve security in the State,” Mr Onwevadu pleaded.
The Rivers State born businessman hinted that there were benefits and advantages of owning hotels such as rendering services and providing short time shelter for travelers and road users.
“The benefits of hotels cannot be over emphasised. Without hotels travelers who are on transit will suffer. Besides, without hotels and restaurants there will be no enjoyments”, Mr Onwe-vadu explained.
He commended Governor Nyesom Wike for building the Port Harcourt Pleasure Park and added that Governor Wike had not only empowered people but had also created jobs for some people.
On the up-coming local government election in Rivers State, Mr Onwevadu had this to say; “I am not a politician but I want to tell you that the 2021 Rivers State poll will be free and fair as well as credible. In fact, I am convinced that it will be a peaceful election.”
He described Governor Wike as a dedicated leader who had given women a sense of belonging by ensuring that Rivers women become running mates to the LGA chairmanship candidates in the state.
He urged the youth of Rivers to behave responsibly during and after the election.
