Experts Hail Rivers Health Management Information System
The Deputy Chief Medical Director, Rivers State University Teaching Hospital (RSUTH), Dr Alali Dan-Jumbo, has described the state’s Health Management Information System (RivHMiS) as a welcome development.
Dan-Jumbo said this in a feedback/testimonial message to the State Information Department in Port Harcourt, recently.
He noted that the technology had improved the health care delivery system in the state in terms of patient management and clinic appointment systems.
According to him, the system has also made the patients records retrieval optimal.
He further disclosed that RivHMis had supported financial solutions in the establishment by reducing leakages and payment tracking.
“ RivHMiS has improved our ICT infrastructure and has indeed transformed health care in RSUTH”, he said.
The medical officer also disclosed how the application has since its inception in 2019, simplified the process of accessing patients’ information.
“It has been interesting growing with the website, the site is very interactive, easy to understand”, he said.
Also in her view, the Head of Department, Pathology, Dr Hannah Omunakwe, said that the application was both patient and environmental friendly, adding that the strategy adopted was simple.
Omunakwe said the application had also reduced the rate of missing notes and time being wasted by patients and urged all stakeholders to back the digital system.
She also listed easy access to welfare from philanthropist organisations as part of the benefits of the system.
