Council Chairman-Elect Promises To Give Security Top Priority

Ogba/ Egbema/Ndoni/ Local Government Chairman-Elect, Hon. Job Vincent says sustaining the security of the area remains sacrosanct.
Vincent made the declaration shortly after receiving certificate of return at RSIEC office in Port Harcourt on Monday.
Speaking with newsmen, the newly elected chairman of ONELGA,  said his administration was poised to fight crime.
Job, said security of lives and property was the springboard for the development of any society including his local government.
 “We will focus primarily on security which is very important because without adequate security, no meaningful development can be achieved”, he stated.
“As a council, we will leverage on the performance of the current administration as it has to do with security, no stone will be left unturned”, Job pointed out.
“The current administration was supportive to the security agencies as well as local vigilante which have yielded adequate result. Enormous support will be given to the local vigilante to ensure the peace achie-ved is sustained. The council shall take holistic approach in tackling the security challenge to enable the people have confidence in us. We believe in the harmonious working relationship among security agencies to achieve desired objective. The ONELGA local vigilante often called OSPAC has done well, we have no option than to encourage them do more for the people,” he declared.
He said other areas his administration would face were youth empowerment, education, social welfare and infrastructure.
The chairman elect described the recent launch of C41 security apparatus by Governor Nyesom Wike as a watershed.
He said Governor Wike meant well for Rivers people hence deserved support by well-meaning Rivers people.
He said no administration in the state had ever given enormous logistics support to the security agencies than Governor Wike and assured that ONELGA under his administration would replicate the same feat.
Recall that the chairmanship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Job Vincent and his vice, Dr. Stella Agada were declared winner of the 17th April 2021 local government elections in Rivers State having polled 52, 484 of the 53,659 total lawful votes case as declared by the River State Independent Electoral Commission on Sunday.
