OBALGA Assures On Security Of Lives, Property

Chief Security Officer, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, Amadi Azubuike,has assured protection of government facilities in his domain.

Azubuike, who is also the Akpor Security Planning Advisory Committee Chairman, said his vigilante group would go any length to sanitize the area of criminal activities.

The Obio/Akpor Chief Security Officer made the disclosure,while speaking with newsmen during the commissioning of Trade Union Congress (TUC) by Governor Nyesom Wike

He said the only appreciation for the governor was ensuring the projects sited in Obio/Akpor were secured

Azubuike admitted that the accolade of “Mr. Project” given to Chief Nyesom Wike was well deserved based on numerous people-oriented projects Rivers people had witnessed since assumption of office.

He said the projects on ground as well as the commissioning of Trade Union Congress building had made him believe that Chief Wike was working to develop the state

The Obio/Akpor CSO further reiterated the commitment of vigilante groups to work with security operations to keep the place safe.

He said gone were the days when  criminals held the area ransom and noted that his office was ever ready to collaborate with sister security operatives to track any unwanted element whose stuck in trade was to scuttle the existing peace.

Azubuike said the protection of lives and property, fight against cultism, kidnapping, extra judicial killings and rape must be detected in Obio/Akpor

“As Obio/Akpor chief security Officer, I can assure our people of adequate protection and sanity by the grace of God. We have all it takes to defend residents of Obio/Akpor and ensuring they sleep well, this can be achieved with the collaboration of the police not excluding the support of the people,” he said

He said the group’s past mistakes, wrong doings must be corrected to have public confidence.

Akpor ASPAC commander sounded it loud that any of his men found wanting would face the consequences

Azubuike said the public should also appreciate the good work the local vigilante had been doing and stated that mistake was inevitable, but what mattered was the ability to say “I am sorry”

“I can assure  the people that our collective effort at sanitizing Obio/Akpor. We shall go any length to achieve it. The peace of the people remains our watch word”, he said.
