Ukwadi  said the NIOB was on course in Rivers State and was doing much to educate the people on the need of engaging professional builders in building management and construction.
The Chairman explained that the continued engagement of professional builders would avoid the incidence of building collapses during and after construction.
According to him, when professional builders are not engaged in building management, you are bound to have challenges.
He said, one of the challenges of builders was building collapse, stressing that “this was why we advised that professional builders should be engaged in building management and construction”.
According to him, “In some cases, some buildings may not collapse, but in terms of maintainability, they could cause defects and defaced the environment”, he said.
While delivering a lecture at the event, the National Secretary, Christopher Belonwu and the National Publicity Secretary,Akinola Bemmeka  urged the Rivers State Government to always engage professionals for standard building management.
They noted that NIOB  members were trained and certified for building constructions and should be always engaged in the process.
They commended the chapter chairman, Bldr. Hillary Ukwadi for the programme, noting that some of the advocacy programmes embarked on by the institute in the state were coming to reality.
“ NIOB began the campaign for institutions in the state to commence building technology programmes which Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic has commenced”, he said.
