Buhari Honours 32 As World Marks Women’s Day, Today

The Presidency, yesterday, unveiled 32 female government officials which it described as “The Buhari Women” to mark this year’s International Women’s Day.
The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, listed the women in a statement titled, “International Women’s Day: See How President Buhari Celebrates Nigerian Women.”
Adesina described the 32 female officials that were listed as just a few of them.
The statement read in part, “March 8 of every year is observed globally as International Women’s Day. Theme for 2021 is, ‘Choose to Challenge’.
“The celebration provides ample opportunity to reflect on how President Muhammadu Buhari honours the womenfolk.
“Here is a checklist of ‘The Buhari Women,’ just few of them.”
Those listed include seven female ministers, including Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed; Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Farouq; Minister of Women Affairs, Pauline Tallen; Minister of State for Industry, Trade and Investment, Mariam Katagum; Minister of State for Environment, Sharon Ikeazor; Minister of State for Transportation, Gbemisola Saraki; and Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory, Ramatu Aliyu.
Others are Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr Folashade Yemi-Esan; Special Adviser to the President, Mariam Uwais; Special Adviser to the President on Industry, Trade and Investment, and Secretary of the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council, Jumoke Oduwole; Director-General, National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, Prof Mojisola Adeyeye; Managing Director, Nigerian Ports Authority, Hadiza Bala-Usman; Chairman, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Hon Abike Dabiri-Erewa; Executive Secretary, Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate, Chioma Ejikeme; Director-General, Debt Management Office, Patience Oniha; and Director-General, National Pension Commission, Aisha Dahir-Umar.
