About 13 companies participated in the open bid, as Rivers State Bureau for Public Procurement, media and non-governmental organisations observed the process.
Shortly after the process, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Health, Dr Ndidi Utchay, said only companies that meet the criteria will be awarded the job.
“ The Wike – led administration she said,” has zero tolerance for project failure and so it’s those companies that meet criteria based on competence and experience that will be selected “.
One of the participating bidders from T Jake’s and Company, Achikalu Edith, said she was impressed with the transparency of the bidding process, and expressed hope her firm will win the job.
