Fire Boy Leads Pack Of Winners At 14th Headies Awards …As Laycon Rocks Oversize Shoes To Event

The 14th edition of the Headies Award has come and gone with memorable events. The show was virtual with a huge part of it prerecorded.
The live event was held on Sunday February 21, 2021 at the Eco Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island Lagos with electrifying performance from Chile, Fire Boy, Joe Boy and Laycon
Nigerian musician Fire Boy led the pack of winners with five awards including Album of the year, Best R&B single, Best Pop Album and Revelation Album. It was a reward for his second studio album ‘Apollo’.
The 17 track album includes Eli, Tattoo and New York City Girl as well as appearances from D. Smoke, Wande Coal and Olamide. Reacting to the awards, Mavin Records CEO and super producer, Don’t Jazzy feels it is good for Grammy prize. “That Fire Boy album suppose win Grammy sef”, he twitted.
Wizkid won two awards including Artiste of the year. Celebrities in attendance were Wizkid, 2Baba, Sound Sultan, Fire Boy, Idia Aisien, AY ill bliss, Bad Boy Timz, Omah Lay and Mayorkun among others.
The show which celebrates outstanding achievements in the Nigerian music industry was hosted by comedian Bovi and media personality, Nancy Isime and saw winners in new categories: Songwriter of the year.
Meanwhile, fans have reacted as the Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) season 5 winner and rapper, Olamilekan, Moshood Agbeleshe popularly known as Laycon who is currently the topic of discuss social media rocked oversized shoes to the event. They took to their twitter handles to poke fun at his choice of shoes and also condemned his stylist.
