CAFCC: Rivers Utd Fails To Progress

Rivers United FC of Port Harcourt, yesterday failed to progress in the CAF Confederation Cup after they were eliminated  by Enyimba FC of Aba via penalty shoot out at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt.
Scores at regulation time was 1-0 in favour of Rivers United and 1-1 aggregate after a pulsating and keen contest between the two teams over two legs.
The teams had to be separated through the lottery of penalty kicks.
At the end of proceedings, Enyimba triumphed 5-4 as the kicks entered sudden death.
Speaking with the Captain of Rivers United FC, Festus Austin after the game, he said,  they were unlucky not  to have won the game.
According to him, he was having a positive mind set before the game and the players tried their best, but it appeared as if  the God of football was not on our side.
“ I am not happy with the result of the game because I was having a positive mind that United would win the match before the kick off.
“We tried what we could but we were unlucky, it’s not that Enyimba were too good”.
He used the medium to wish Enyimba best of luck in the group stage of CAFCC.
