The Umuohali Royal Kindred  has  endorsed HRH Eze (Dr) Chamberlain Igwe  as its Eze Ohali (King),sequel to a recent court judgement in his favour.
This was contained in a  judgment delivered in the High Court of Rivers State, in the Omoku Judicial Division Holden in Port-Harcourt before His Lordship, Hon. Justice Sobere Biambo and made available to newsmen in Port Harcourt recently.
The Tide learnt that the  decision was reached at the Obidi Town Hall in the Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni LGA, on Sunday, 17th January, 2021 with all the major decision makers and prominent members of the Umuohali Royal Kindred present.
In his speech, the Secretary General of the group, Mr  Peter Josiah, who  read the judgment to the hearing of all,  pointed out that the suit challenging the Stool of   Eze Chamberlain Igwe as the Eze Ohali III of Ogbaland has been struck out.
The matter  which came as suit number  OHC/28/2015 , was consolidated with OHC/74/2013 and  lasted from 2013 to November, 2020.
Josiah noted that the meeting had not been held for about six  years now due to the insecurity in the area.
According to him, Eze Chamberlain was now  free to continue as the Eze Ohali irrespective of the possibility of an Appeal by the other party.
He expressed rediness by  Umuohali to back Eze Chamberlain and urged the Rivers State Government to accord him the needed recognition for eventual performance.
Also speaking, the President General of the group, Chief Newton Okoro (JP), noted that the  meeting by the House was to take the vital decisions that would enable the kindred move forward.
Another Chief,  Ebere Allen Omodi, who corroborated the speech of the President,  also  urged the Igwe to go on since the courts had paved the way for  him.
Omodi stresed that the government  ought to recognise him due to the long vacuum the legal tussle had created.
“The stool has been vacant for too long , so we want it promoted to 1st Class as the stool is the first and oldest in Ogbaland”, he said.
He, however,  called  all and sundry to shun violence and pitch  their tents around the new King in his quest to take them to the Promised Land.
Meanwhile, the Eze Ali of Ohali Elu traditional paramount ruler, HRH Eze Onyige Goodluck Abel, has called on   Governor of the State, Chief (Barr) Nyesom Wike,  to accored their King the needed recognition especially as the 17/18 communities have endorsed his certificate and thanked all and the judiciary for doing the needful.
