Botswana Places President Masisi’s Residence Under Enhanced Vigilance Against COVID-19 Spread
Health authorities in Botswana have enhanced vigilance against COVID-19 introduction and spread at the residence of the leader of the southern African country, President Mokgweetsi Masisi.
This was after some officials serving the presidency closely tested positive for COVID-19. while one unidentified official succumbed to death due to complications related to the global pandemic.
Andrew Sesinyi, the Botswana government spokesperson said in a statement yesterday.
Sesinyi said health officials immediately instituted risk assessment resulting in Masisi and his wife, Jane Neo Masisi underwent a COVID-19 Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) testing.
However, their COVID-19 PCR tests came back negative, Sesinyi said.
