Rivers APC May Not Have Candidates In 2023 – Worlu
A former Chieftain of All Progressive Congress (APC) who recently defected to the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in Rivers State, Mr Gift Worlu, says his former political party may likely lose the chance of being on the ballot papers of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, come 2023 elections in the State.
Worlu, who stated this in an interview with newsmen in Port Harcourt at the weekend, explained that the leadership crisis in the Rivers State chapter of the party might worsen in 2023.
He described the party as a social club in which one man decides the fate of all members.
“APC may likely not be in INEC ballots papers, because the crisis in the party may worsen before 2023 elections.”
“APC is not a political party, APC in Rivers State is a social club, the party has no vision, and I cannot continue to remain in a party without a visionary leader,” Worlu said.
He described Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike as a visionary leader who was ready to accommodate everybody.
The new decampee said his decision to join PDP was as a result of Governor Wike’s achievement in the area of infrastructure.
