Rangers FC Ready For League Resumption – Media Officer
The Media Officer for Rangers International FC of Enugu, Norbert Okolie, has said the club has returned to Enugu after seven days camping in Abakaliki.
Okolie said this in an interview with newsmen in Enugu yesterday.
He said that the club was fully poised for the resumption of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
Tidesports source reports that Rangers FC will face Rivers United in Port Harcourt in the first week of the league and play host to Akwa United at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in the second week.
“We came back on Monday and had training on Tuesday morning. We are putting finishing touches for the new season, which may kick off on December 6.
“Rangers played two matches in Abakaliki against Akubaroha and Diamond Academy.
“We defeated Akubaroha Youth 2-1 in the first match and drew 0-0 with Diamond Academy in the second match,” Okolie said.
He said the pre-season result was not the major reason for the friendly matches.
“The technical crew used the matches to assess the new players, introduce new tactics and formations,” he said.
He said the players were all in shape for the new season, adding that they were determined to take their current form to Port Harcourt against Rivers United in their first match.
Okolie assured the club’s supporters that the club would fight in all fronts for trophies and continental ticket this season.
