Udeze Advises Pillars’ Coach To Work With Others
Former Super Eagles left back, Ifeanyi Udeze, has advised new Kano Pillars technical adviser, Lionel Soccoia, to work freely with other coaches of the team.
Udeze spoke to Tidesports source ahead of Kano Pillars’ Confederation Cup match against Senegalese side ASC Jaraaf.
Sai Masu Gida as Pillars are called, will play away to ASC Jaraaf this weekend before the return-leg in Nigeria in a fortnight.
In one of their warn up matches ahead of the game, Kano Pillars lost 5 nil to Nasarawa United at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, last Saturday, prompting criticisms of the new coach.
Udeze said Soccoia, who was hired few months ago, needed to start working freely with his backroom staff as they knew players better than than him.
“You can’t be making all the decisions when you just came newly into a team, there are other people who have worked with these players in the past and know them more than you do.
“So, he has to work with these coaches and carry them along, any coach who comes into a new system and tries to sideline others is selfish,” he told Tidesports source.
ASC Jaraaf is the most successful Senegalese team on the continent and plays at the 20,000 capacity Stade DembaDiop.
