Mayor Seeks Wike’s Intervention On Iloabuchi-Eagle Island Road
The Mayor of Port Harcourt, Hon Victor Ihunwo, has appealed to the Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike to help in the reconstruction of the Iloabuchi Road in Diobu, Port Harcourt.
Hon Ihunwo made the appeal last Saturday during the inauguration of the Rebisi Flyover Bridge in Port Harcourt Local Government Area of the state.
The council boss noted that when Governor Wike swung into action after his swearing-in ceremony in 2015, he reconstructed all the roads in Diobu axis of the city.
He also said that though projects executed by the governor were littered across the 23 local government areas in the state, Port Harcourt benefited more because over 60 per cent of the people of the state live in the area.
“On behalf of the people and residents of Port Harcourt Local Government Area, I wish to thank you for this show of love and assure you of our continued support to your administration”, he said.
The Mayor however, noted that while the governor was embarking on massive road reconstruction in Diobu, he forgot the Iloabuchi-Eagle Island Road and pleaded for his intervention in reconstructing the road to ease traffic flow in the area.
The chairman equally commended Governor Wike for naming the newly commissioned Judges Quarters in the state after one of the illustrious sons of the city, late Emmanuel Aguma (SAN) who before his demise, served as the Commissioner for Justice and Attorney-General of the state.
