Youths Seek Justice For Slain Colleague In C’River

Irked by the brutal manner their colleague was murdered, youths from the Cross River North Senatorial District under the auspices of the Concerned Youths of Cross River North have called for justice for killing of one Charles Onwe, who lost his life during run-off of the PDP primaries for the Northern Senatorial District.
The youths said they were dismayed that one month after the incident which led to the death of Charles, nothing had happened and the culprits seem to be getting away with the crime.
The secretary of the youths, Ajegi Ikachi who made the youths position known in Calabar also condemned the action oand decries the sileneover the incident.
According to Ikachi “We the PDP youths of the Northern Senatorial District of Cross River State are dismayed nearly one month after the election that was characterised by unprecedented violence that left some party faithful maimed and traumatised, the party has not called those affected to a round table to calm frayed nerves.
“A word of condolence has, up till now, not gone out to the family of Charles Onwe who was brutally murdered on the eve of the primary election into the Northern Senatorial District. This is not in the character of our dear party”, he said.
He said besides this, the ward chairman of Wanihem Ward is receiving treatment at Mkar for gunshot wounds after being shot  at the venue of the election by the police.
They called on the police to expedite action on the investigation and prosecution of the culprits and also called on the leadership as well as stakeholders of the party to bring the party together ahead of the October 31 By election.
