As preparations climax for the burial of late Justice Adolphus Karibi-Whyte, a retired Supreme Court Judge, the Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, has commiserated with the family of the late eminent jurist, whom he described as a foremost legal icon at the national and international level and deserving nothing less than a befitting State Burial.
The governor, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Tammy Danagogo, stated this when he briefed members of the family who paid a courtesy call on him last Monday in Port Harcourt.
Danagogo, in the same vein, expressed his appreciation for Governor Wikes’ magnanimity in releasing the sum of N50million to the family of the late judge.
Presenting the cheque, the SSG noted that, the governor has again demonstrated his love for the Kalabari people which he has shown through various developmental projects and welfare support to individuals and organizations.
He urged them to be peaceful and deploy the fund to judicious use.
Meanwhile, Commendation Service for the late Judge is slated to hold on Friday, September 25, 2020 by 10AM at St Cyprian’s Anglican Church while the Burial Service would hold at Abonnema in Akuku-Toru LGA on Saturday, September 26, 2020.
