Plateau South By-Election: 2,117 Delegates To Participate In APC Primaries
The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC)Primary Elections’ Committee for Plateau South Senatorial district, Mr Habu Ajiya, says 2,117 delegates are expected to participate in the exercise.
Ajiya said this when he addressed newsmen before the start of the primaries yesterday in Shendam.
The Chairman said that all the delegates would be thoroughly screened and given tags before they would be allowed into the venue of the by-election.
“We are here to conduct a family business because all of us are members of the APC and all the aspirants are contesting under our party.
“We will do our best to conduct a free and fair primary that will be accepted not only by the aspirants but by the entire people of Plateau South.
“We will issue the delegates with tags to curtail unwanted persons in the environment,” he said.
He said that four aspirants would be seeking the party’s ticket.
According to him, all the aspirants will be given a level-playing ground for one of them to emerge as the flag bearer.
He expressed satisfaction with the arrangements put in place by the local organising committee.
Also, Chairman of Shendam Local Government Council, Mr Alex Nantuam said that adequate arrangements had been put in place for a hitch-free exercise.
