Kano Pillars will play their CAF Confederation Cup home games at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna State.
The Sai Masu Gida will be competing in the CAF second elite football competition next season, but the Sanni Abacha Stadium won’t be ready in time to host continental matches.
Kano Pillars Chairman, Alhaji Surajo Shaibu Yahaya and other delegates had earlier visited the office of Kaduna State Football Association on the possibility of staging their home games in the state.
Alkasim Sherrif had intimated him on their mission to Kaduna before he led them to the North West coordinator’s office.
After a meeting between the officials, Kano Pillars have now been granted permission to make use of the stadium for such international competition.
“We know we have a cordial working relationship with Kaduna State and it is with this on our mind that we are optimistic that our request will not be turned down.
“We will also be willing to contribute in whichever area possible to make the stadium in good condition for the matches.” Alhaji Surajo Shaibu Yahaya said.
The Chairman who also took a tour of the stadium, expressed satisfaction with the facility, stressing however that some areas will certainly require an uplift.
