Bauchi Gov Dissolves Council Chairmen
Bauchi State Governors Bala Mohammed has dissolved the caretaker chairmen across the 20 local government areas to provide a level-playing ground for all candidates in the forthcoming council polls.
Secretary to the State Government, Mohammed Sabiu, in a statement, said the Governor’s move is in compliance with guidelines by the State Independent Electoral Commission for the provision of 30 days notice by all candidates, who wish to participate in the election.
The statement reads: “Following the release of the timetable for forthcoming local government council’s elections in the state and in compliance with guidelines issued by the state Independent Electoral Commission for the provision of 30 days’ notice by all candidates, who wish to participate in the election, the governor has approved the dissolution of all the chairmen with immediate effect.”
