Following the alleged upsurge of crime in some parts of the country due to the Conoravirus pandemic (COVID-19), Rivers State has been said to be crime- free as a result of the high level security  checks mounted by the state Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike.
His Majesty, King Leslie N Eke, said this in an exclusive chat with The Tide yesterday at his residence in Woji, Obio/Apkor Local Government Area.
The Eze Gbakagbaka, said that the state Chief Executive had before now placed high premium on security, thus, the zero crime rate in the state.
Eze Eke, noted that Governor Wike had been ahead many issues in the country, describing him as being foresighted.
The Nyerisi Eli Woji/ Eze Oha III of Evo Kingdom, said Rivers people would continue to enjoy peace and crime less society so far  as Wike remains as Governor.
According to him, it only takes the likes of Governor Wike to wrest the state from the clutches of  those he described as merchandise of crime.
“Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, is bold and capable of taking the state to its expected height, that’s why I am proud of him”, he said.
The  monarch, who also is  the Nyerisim Mbam Oro Evo, urged the people to always be security conscious in order not to allow criminal elements take undue advantage of them.
“You must ensure that you are on ground in the  areas of security.  Don’t allow anyone take advantage of the present situation and swindle you”, he pointed out.
On the part of the security operatives in the state, he charged them to be up and doing so as to maintain the current security situation of the state.
He said if the security report of the state continued, that the state may be ranked as the highest investors hub in the country.
The Monarch reasoned that security was key in any area that wanted development, adding that all hands must be on deck to retain the position.
As at the time of filing this report, The Tide gathered from a high profile officer in Nigeria Security and  Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), that Governor Nyesom Wike had provided a water-tight security net that would keep the state free of any sort of crime.
