Funke Akindele Thanks Fans For Support After Conviction
Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele –Bello speaks for the first time since she was convicted for violating lockdown order as she says she had learnt a lot.
The actress and husband JJC Skillz were both found guilty in court for hosting a house party despite the lockdown order issued by the Lagos State Government due to coronavirus.
In a video message on Sunday, April 19, 2020, the actress thanked everyone for the love and support shown to her during the ordeal.
“Thank you for all the love, support, feed back and calls. I really appreciate them just few weeks has been a learning curve but we must keep moving forward”, he said.
“My dear friends coronavirus is real, we must continue to collaborate with the Lagos State Government and the federal government for staying at home”, she added.
The actress went to hammer on the need for Nigerians to practice social distancing and good hygiene during this period. She thanked all health workers who had been on the frontline of the pandemic since its emergence and paid condolence to the families of those who have lost loved ones as a result of the disease.
Funke and her husband, JJC Skillz on Saturday April 4 hosted a party at their house which sparked twitter backlash the following day. The party was to celebrate Skillz’s birthday. The couple was sentenced to 14 days of community service with a fine of N100,000.00 each.
