The immediate past Deputy Governor of Edo, Mr Pius Odubu, yesterday donated hand sanitisers to the Edo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Benin.
Odubu, also a governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC), called on journalists to be safety conscious as they go about their duties in the coronavirus epidemic era.
Our source reports that the former deputy governor was represented by Mr Henry Idahagbon, a member of his campaign team.
According to him, “as it is well known, journalists by the nature of your job do a lot of moving around and thus need to be well protected.
“I believe that journalists, like members of the public should be safety conscious and encouraged as you carry out your assignments.’’
Responding, Mr Lucky Isibor, the Financial Secretary of the council, thanked the former deputy governor for his show of love.
He promised that the journalists would put the hand sanitisers to good use.
