Commissioner Tasks Rivers Youths On Compliance To Wike’s Directives

The Rivers State Commissioner for Youth Development, Hon. Ohia Prince Obi has called on all youth leaders in various communities in the state to enforce government’s directive on the coronavirus pandemic.
The Commissioner, who made the call in a press statement in Port Harcourt, urged youth bodies to cooperate with the local government chairmen and law enforcement agents in the 23 local government areas, to strengthen the fight against the dreaded COVID -19 in order to curb the menace of the disease.
Ohia also solicited cooperation of youth leaders in the communities to assist in sensitising the people on  the dangers of the coronavirus pandemic in their communities.
According to him, the governor is working tirelessly to curb the menace of the disease in the state and therefore, seeks the understanding and cooperation of the youth leaders and the people to win the battle.
He advised that to ensure the  safety of lives of all well meaning individuals  living and doing business in various communities in the state, they should ensure that people obey simple life saving instructions such as: avoiding crowded areas, handshakes, conducting public burial and marriage ceremonies, all forms of meetings as well as avoid church/jumat services of more than 50 persons, unnecessary touching of the face, etc describing these acts as sources of transmission of the disease.
