Nigeria’s Afrobeat golden boy, Divine Ikubor also known as Rema is on the news again for something great as the ‘Dumebi’ crooner has a song with American super star rapper, Aubrey Graham, popularly known as Drake.
The rapper took to his instagram to have a live session with his fans and he played some songs on his playlist including Rema’s smash hit “Dumebi”. He didn’t just stop at playing Rema’s song to his 65.1 million followers but also gave the young Nigerian star a shout out by telling fans that they have a sick song together.
Drake said: “Big up Rema too, we have a sick song together…” He then continued playing the song, this continues the strategic positions that Mavin Records has been commendably doing with Rema.
This is another great milestone for Rema who has been branding with Hollywood recently with grammy nominated American producer, Scottstorch and Jamaican producer, Russain, who produced his recent Jam ‘Beamer’
Meanwhile, the Mavin record wave of the moment, Rema has joined the likes of American legendary artistes Lil Wayne, Drake, Kendrick Lamar and a host of others to cover the Fader Magazine.
Rema, who won the next rated award at this year’s Headies Award took to his twitter page to share his excitement with fans as he noted how profoundly glad he is still at his tender age.
The 19-year-old artiste stated how delighted he is seeing his sound and vision being endorsed and embraced across the globe. The young talented singer will be hoping to continue his dominance as the year runs to an end.
Rema wrote: “it is a great honour to have a cover amongst these legends in 9 months. Joy fills my heart seeing my vision and sound endorsed globally and being part of the books in the new generation.”
