The Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyenso Wike has again declared that his administration has never interfered with funds of local governments in the state.
Wike, who stated this at the commissioning of an Ultra Modern Market built by Eleme Council under the current chairmanship of Philip Okparaji at Akpajo, emphasised that local government chairmen have no reason why they should not develop their areas.
The governor, who was represented by the Commissioner for Special Duties, Thomas Barinee, said the gigantic market project, including pipe borne water had shown that local government councils controlled their funds without any interference by state government.

The governor reassured the people of Eleme of more state projects before the expiration of his tenure in the state.
The chairman of the council, Philip Okparaji, said the project was part of his campaign promises to the people of Akpajo.
He reassured the people of Eleme that he will not play politics in the distribution of projects to all the wards in the area.
Okparaji urged the people of Eleme to support the government of Governor Wike for more projects in the area.
Also speaking, the secretary of the Road Maintenance Agency, Hon. Fineman Onugwe, commended the council chairman for the project, urging him to ensure that meaningful development projects and programs circulated round the wards that make up the LGA.
