Three Rivers Students Win STEEM Cash Awards

Three senior secondary school students have emerged winners of the second edition of Group Capt John Ibiwari Ben- Kalio Science, Technology Entrepreneurship, English and Mathematics (STEEM) award competitions
The three students include master Akinwumi Temitope of Community Secondary School Abuloma who came 1st and was awarded N25,000,Master Ismail Mubarak of CSS Amadi -Ama, went home with N20.000 for coming second ,while Master Uche Onyekosor of CSS, Amadi -Ama came 3rd and was awarded N15.000
Twenty students drawn from Community Secondary School ,Amadi-Ama,CSS, Abuloma,and National High School, Amadi-Ama participated in the all inclusive examination that lasted for over five hours..
Speaking at the award /cash presentation ceremony held at Community Secondary School ,Abuloma in Port Harcourt City Local Government Area of the State, Saturday, the Vice President of Green Leaf Foundation, Mr Manesah Jaja expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the exercise which he described as being very transparent and honest.
Mr Jaja who also chaired the occasion, used the opportunity to salute the brilliance and resourcefulness of both students and teachers which were exhibited during the contest and thanked the donor of the award for his support and contributions towards the development of education in the society, especially with the support to the less-privileged students.
He urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the money and ensure that it was channelled to registration of their Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE).
Our correspondent reports that the 3rd edition of the programme will hold in June with three secondary schools domiciled in Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area participating.
