The Coalition of Leaders and stakeholders in the Niger Delta region, an umbrella body of leaders and stakeholders from the nine states of the Niger Delta region, have called on President Muhamandu Buhari to appoint a Niger Delta indigene as the Chairman of the Presidential Amnesty Program (PAP) to substitute   the present arrangement, where a non- indigene of the region was appointed to head the care taker committee.
The group also described the situation as unacceptable ,an affront to the sensibility of the people of the region and called for its  reversal with an appointment of a critical stakeholder from the area who is grounded in Niger Delta struggle, as a replacement.
The group made this  call in a communique issued  at the end of one-day extra ordinary  meeting  of the group held at the palace of King Michael Tom Ateke ,the paramount ruler of Okochiri Kingdom in Okrika Local Government Area of Rivers State, Monday.
The communique which was read by the leader of the group , Mr Ogoriba ,Timi KaiserWilhelm on behalf of the leaders, also condemned in strong terms the alleged invasion of the region by migrant herdsmen which they said, led to  the killing of many people in the region.
