Army Holds 2020 Annual Range Classification In Rivers

The 29 Battalion Nigerian Army, Port Harcourt, yesterday, flagged-off its Annual Range Classification Exercise at the Nigerian Army Shooting Range, Igwuruta, Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The annual exercise designed to strengthen the military’s capacity and capability in the discharge of personnel duties will run through Thursday between the hours of 6:00am and 5:00pm daily.
The Nigerian Army Routine Training Directives for the year 2020 is an exercise aimed at determining the professional ability and proficiency of the troops on the use of fire arms and marksmanship, with the primary goal of improving individual shooting skills which involves live firing of small arms at the Range area.
In a statement made available to The Tide by the Acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, 6 Division, Port Harcourt, Major Charles Ekeocha, advised the general public, particularly residents, commuters and farmers within the Igwuruta Army Range general area, to stay clear of the Range area for the duration of the exercise.
