MFN Prepares For Championship In Tunisia

The Mauythai Federation of Nigeria (MFN) says preparations are on top gear to represent Nigeria at the forthcoming Africa Mauythai Championship scheduled to hold in Tunisia, next month.
MFN President, Comrade Paul Egonu, disclosed this on Wednesday, in a chat with sports journalists in Port Harcourt.
According to him, his athletes have been in camp in preparation for the Championship, saying that he is optimistic that the athletes will make the country proud.
“I will lead the delegation to the championship with two fighters and two other officials. With the level of training, I am sure we are going to bring glory to the country,” Comrade Egonu said.
He further explained that while in camp his athletes have attended other championship within the county to enable them fit physically and mentally, in preparation for the continental competition.
“ I want to tell you that the competition they attended is also to enable the coaches select the best. Besides, it will also help the athletes physically and mentally fit,” he stated.
He used the forum to appreciate the Minister of Sports, Hon. Sunday Dare, over the approval given to Mauythai to demonstrate at the 20th National Sports Festival (NSF) to hold in Edo State.
The President appeal to the sports minister to continue his pragmatic approach towards sports development in country.
He equally, commend national patrons of MFN , Godfrey Gaiya and the Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Prince Solomon Eke, for their support.
