Free JAMB: RSG Approves 17 CBT Centres

In fulfillment of it’s pledge to register Rivers State indigenes for both Senior School Certificate Examinations and Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UMTE), the State Ministry of Education has approved 17 CBT centres across the state.
The Tide learnt that the approval follows inspection of some Computer Based Test centres (CBT) by the Commissioner for Education, Prof. Kaniye Ebeku.
The approved CBT centres will serve as exam centres for State indigenes who have formally gone through the screening and registration.
Prof. Ebeku who personally visited the centres said he was impressed of the facilities on ground and assured that the state government is bent to fulfill it’s pledge.
Candidates of Rivers State origin for the 2020/2021 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination have lauded the Rivers State Government for bankrolling the payment of the examination.
Some of the eligible candidates captured on the RIVemis platform shortly after registering for the examination at the various CBT centres across the state, thanked the state government for allaying that burden off the shoulders of parents and guardians
They assured that the opportunity given to them by the state government under the leadership of Governor Nyesom Wike will not be taken for granted.
One Agondu Abraham from Obio/ Akpor who got registered said, I am happy to be among those who are benefitting from the state free JAMB. I am so grateful and I appreciate the state governor’s gesture.
Another beneficiary, Precious Dandison said the exercise will save her parents from paying money for her UTME, as such money can be channeled into helping the family needs.
She promised to put in her best during the exams, so as to gain university admission.
