Banigo Urges Communities To Cooperate With Boundary Commission

The Rivers State Deputy Governor, Dr. Ipalibo Harry Banigo has called on the people of Wakama Community in Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area and Kporghor Community in Tai Local Government Area to cooperate with the Rivers State Boundary Commission (RSBC) in its quest to bring an end to their boundary dispute.
Banigo made this call at a meeting between the Rivers State Boundary Commission and stake-holders from Wakama and Kporghor communities at the Government House in Port Harcourt, last Thursday.
According to the deputy governor, this dispute has unfortunately cost the communities the loss of several human lives and the loss of very valuable properties running into millions of naira, noting that communal crisis does not do anybody any good whatsoever.
She said communal crisis only brings hardship, economic sabotage, blockage and total lack of development to the area, stressing that the boundary commission under her watch cannot fold its arms and watch helplessly as communal crisis impedes the developmental agenda of Governor Nyesom Wike.
