APC Can’t Take Any S’South State Again, Rivers PDP Boasts
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State has vowed that no political party, including All Progressives Congress (APC) can win another state from the South-South geo-political zone, again.
The Chairman of the party in the state, Bro Felix Obuah, said this in an interview with newsmen in Port Harcourt, on the sideline of the state Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) meeting at the PDP Secretariat, yesterday.
He called on the National Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, to save the party scarce resources by engaging in another legal battle with PDP over the Supreme Court judgement on Bayelsa State governorship election.
Obuah described the Supreme Court judgement on Bayelsa State governorship as a way to return the stolen mandate to the rightful owner.
The Rivers PDP chairman, who expressed happiness at the outcome, said “the South-South is PDP, and PDP is South-South”, saying that the party was very optimistic that the mandate that was stolen by APC federal might has been recovered in the court of law.
“We are very happy that the stolen mandate has been given back to the rightful people as far as South-South is concerned, because South-South is PDP, and PDP is South-South.
“As soon as we lost by the manipulation of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and APC-led Federal Government, I was very optimistic that PDP will reclaim the mandate in court”, Obuah said.
Obuah, a former chairman of Inter Parties Advisory Council (IPAC), commended the Abuja High Court ruling to stop INEC from deregistration of 74 political parties from operation.
According to him, INEC should do the needful in line with the laws, and not just wake up suddenly to announce the deregistration of political parties after collecting money for registration.
“INEC should do the needful, any political party that met the requirements to operate as political party should be allowed to operate, and any one that does not meet the guidelines should be deregistered”, Obuah said.
