State Security Trust Fund Bill Will Boost Security – Ahiakwo

The Chairman, Adhoc Committee on the Rivers State Security Trust Fund Bill 2019, Hon. Christian Ahiakwo, called on the security agencies, government, public and private sectors to ensure the protection of lives and property of Rivers people.
Hon. Ahiakwo gave the charge during a one-day public hearing on the State Security Trust Fund Bill in the state.
Ahiakwo, who is the lawmaker representing Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Constituency I, said the bill will help boost effective delivery in the security situation of the state.
A representative of the Nigeria Police, DSP Desmond Madu, during his recommendation called on the house to include a section where all injured police officers in the course of their duty  will be taken care of
The Director General of Rivers State Neighbourhood Watch Safety Agency, Uche Chukwuma, said the bill when passed into law, will make the work of security operatives move on effectively to ensure a crime free society.
Representatives from the Sixth Division of the Nigerian Army, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Office of the State Attorney General, the Nigerian Bar Association,NBA, and the office of the Secretary to the State Government  made their contributions during the public hearing.
