RUFC Still In Contention To Win NPFL
Rivers United Football Club of Port Harcourt striker, Stephen Gopey says the hope of his team to win the Nigera Professional Football League (NPFL) title is still alive.
He noted that in spite of the draw against Wikki Tourists FC in match day 17 last Sunday in Port Harcourt, the team is still in contention to win the league.
Gopey said this in an exclusive interview with Tidesports on Sunday at Yakubu Gowon Stadium, Port Harcourt.
“We drew at home, it is one of those things that happened in football. We did not want to lose any point but in football any thing can happen,” Gopey said.
According to him, none of his teammates is playing under pressure at home.
“I know we are not playing under any pressure. Hopefully we can reclaim our lost points away from home,” he stated.
Rivers United have played 17 matches, won eight, drew five, lost four and currently third on the log with 29 points.
