AWCQ: Stakeholders React To World Cup Draws

Nigerians have continued to react on the second round of African World Cup qualifier draws, which Nigeria fell into group C alongside Cape Verde, Central Africa Republic and Liberia.
The draw was held on Tuesday night, in Cairo, Egypt.
In his reaction, President of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Honour Sirawoo, expressed confidence that Nigeria Super Eagles will qualify in the group.
He stated that what Super Eagles need now is commitment and hard work to enable them qualify and described the group as an easy one.
“If the right things are done is something Nigeria can close her eyes and get good result, as I speak even Rivers United can qualify from that group” Sirawoo said.
However, he noted that no country is pushover in terms of football presently.
The number one Sports writer in the country used the forum to appeal to Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to prepare early, saying that is the best way to attend any championship.
Reacting, Rivers State Football Association (RSFA), Chairman Christopher Green said that there is no competition that is easy.
He noted that, the Group C is a bit tricky that anything can happen.
“There is one customer (Cape Verde) that is very strong in the group” Green said.
He further explained that the NFF should put their house in order, saying that if the right people are in the right position the team will have an easy going.
Captain of Rivers United football club of Port Harcourt, Festus Austin, in his reactions said the highly rated players in the Super Eagles team are ready for any task ahead.
He stated that Africa football is not always easy, but in Group C Nigeria will get easy qualification.
