Adventists Honour  Security Agencies In Rivers

The Seventh-Day Adventist Church  in Port Harcourt has held a special church service for security agencies in Rivers State as part of activities to   mark the 2020 edition of the Armed Forces Remembrance Day in the state.
The aim of the programme was to express appreciation, celebrate the patriotism and gallantry of the serving  security officers and their ex-servicemen by encouraging them with the messages of  hope and peace in the course of line of duties.
Delivering his  sermon on the topic, “The Amazing Peace,”the  Communication Director, Eastern Union of Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Pastor  Azukoye Amadi, said what the world needed at the moment was the peace offered by God
The said, “as children of God, we need to  depend on His abiding grace and allow Him  fight  for us in all challenges of life.
“You need to trust Him, before doing  anything, He  will give you peace, the type of peace that is above our need to understand “he stated.
Speaking to  newsmen after the church service, the President of  Eastern Nigerian Union Conference of  Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Pastor (Dr) Bassey E.O Udoh, explained that  the event was the  first of its kind in the history of the  church .
According to him,the programme was  put together to let people know about the challenges  that men and women in  the security agencies are passing through and the  need to encourage them in the discharge  of their  duties.
“ Security is a community service, every  organisation needs to join hands  with the government for the development of the country. It is our joy in the Seventh-Day Adventist Church to see what we can do to contribute meaningfully  to nation building and community development,” he stated
He advised the security agencies to be committed,conscious and to have compassion for all citizens while discharging their statutory obligations.
