RSG Moves To Review Physical Development Law
The Rivers State Government says the state Physical Development Law No 6 of 2003 is currently being reviewed to ensure even development across the state.
The Permanent Secretary Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development Sir Chidi Adiele, who said this during a courtesy call on him by the Nigeria Institute of Town Planners said the ministry is willing to partner with any organisation with a view to promoting the physical development of the state.
The Permanent Secretary who was represented by the Director, Physical Planning and Transport, Tonte Davies said Rivers State has a functional master plan to develop Port Harcourt city and the other local government areas such as Degema, Bonny, Bori and Ahoada as well as the Greater Port Harcourt City Area which include Ikwerre, Etche, Oyigbo, Eleme, Ogu/Bolo, Okrika and Obio/Akpor Local Government Areas.
Adiele also said the government is collaborating with planning agencies to arrest the problem of flooding ravaging the state.
Earlier the National President of the Nigeria institution of Town Planners, Lekwa Ezufaa said they were in the state to interface with critical stakeholders in physical planning and construction industries in order to tackle the challenges posed by flooding in the state.
