Monarch Hails Cleric’s Strides On Peace
The former Bishop of  Methodist Church Nigeria, Diocese of D/Line, Port Harcourt, Archbishop   Most Rev. Etim Ekong, has been described as a peace crusader and a man of integrity.
King Leslie N. Eke Eze Gbakagbaka, said this during the sendforth service in honour of the Man-of-God recently, at Methodist Church D/Line, Port Harcourt.
Eke said that the cleric only used his office as Bishop to promote peace in the entire Diocese and beyond.
The Eze Oha Evo III, who likened the office of the Bishop to that of a King, pointed out that Ekong discharged his duties with respect to the law and the ordnance of God.
According to him, such exotic offices only needed the likes of the clergy whom he said was also a manager of resources and a dogged mover.
“ He is diligent, a manager of resources , accommodating and always cheerful “, he said.
Another quality of the Archbishop, as the General Secretary of the Association of Niger Delta Monarchs pointed out was that of humility, which he said attracted a lot of persons to him.
“He is respectful, humble, always  smiling, he is the reason why I am still a Methodist”, he added.
The Nyerisi Eli  Woji XII, also used the occasion to preach peace among Rivers people and its dwellers, and pointed out that no meaningful development could come via violence or unlawful means.
Also speaking,the Chairman of the occasion, Engr,  Matthew Omoniyi, said he was moved by the  cleric’s excellent performance when he served the Diocese as a bishop.
Omoniyi noted that the celebrant, also netted some remarkable progress and charged all on the importance of living exemplary landmarks.
