Groups Plan Plastic Recycling Confab In PH

A Pan African organisation, Africa Global Development for Positive Change Initiative (ADI Africa) and the Yadam Institute of Research, India, are organising a plastic recycling conference in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
International president of Adi Africa, Prince Dan Mbachi who disclosed this in an interview with newsmen in Port Harcourt said the conference which comes up February 2020 in Port Harcourt will recommends measures towards the establishment of a treatment plant in the state.
Mbachi said the event will build the capacity of participants on how to conserve their natural resources and plastics.
“The seminar will help to build the capacities of our people to be able to preserve their natural resources and their environment,” adding that it will foster and promote peace in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria.
According to him, expected at the conference are two delegates from each of the local government areas in the Niger Delta states, while each lawmaker in the region will sponsor two persons each from his or her constituencies for the conference.
Mbachi stressed the need for state governments in the region to collaborate with the organisations to ensure the success of the conference.
He said speakers will be drawn from Kenya, Ghana and Botswana, while the Director of Yadam Institute of Research India, Professor Yadam Ramkumar will also attend the conference.
