Cleric Charges Lawmakers On Good Governance
Anglican cleric, John Akpaka, says House of Assembly members must shun “eye-service’’ in their legislative duties to enhance development and good governance.
Akpaka made the appeal in Enugu yesterday during the monthly inter-denominational church service organised by the staff of the state House of Assembly for the month of November.
According to him, assembly members are duty-bound to represent their constituencies and to be dedicated to their duties for effective service delivery.
He said that Nigeria had been a great country that needed conscientious and concerted devotion by all Nigerians to make the states and the country greater.
The evangelist said “doing eye-service to duties by either the assembly members or staff would not augur well for the state’’.
The Speaker of the Enugu State House of Assembly, Chief Edward Ubosi, implored his colleagues and staff not to exhibit ‘eye-service’ in all they do for the growth of the state.
