Belema Foundation Collaborates With Army University
Underscoring the place of education in national development and integration, Belemaoil Limited and the Belema Foundation Aid recently embarked on the construction of a N3 billion Faculty of Engineering Building for the Army University, Biu in North- Eastern state of Borno.
The founder and President of the indigenous oil company, Engr. Jack-Rich Tein disclosed this during a courtesy call on him in his office in Abuja by the Vice Chancellor, Prof Fatima Tahiru and the management team of the University, yesterday.
In his speech, Engr Jack Rich urged the Nigerian Army University, Biu, to ensure that vocational and skills acquisition platforms aimed at giving women and youths a prosperous future are included in their academics programmes
Expressing his interest in encouraging accelerated growth of the institution, he also harped on the need for the university to look into the area of agriculture considering the comparative advantage in its location at Biu, where the university is sited.
Tein said the motive behind the company’s support to the university was to develop sound academic programmes that would equip graduates with skills that are needed in the modern global economic environment where, science, technology and innovation are key.
According to him, there is every need for the institution to develop learning and teaching modules that would produce modern economic game changers, and to develop the right economic ecosystem that would move to country forward.
Earlier, the Vice Chancellor of the Nigerian Army University, Tahir said the visit was in acknowledgement of the wonderful support given to the institution by Belemaoil which provided solution to one of its key need of building a Faculty of Engineering.
