Tales By Moonlight: Banigo Eulogises Aunty Nkem

The Rivers State Deputy Governor, Dr. Ipalibo Harry Banigo has described the pioneer presenter, producer and director of the popular Television Programme, ”Tales by Moonlight”, Pastor Nkem Oselloka-Orakwue, as an icon.
Banigo stated tahis while speaking at the 70th Birthday celebration of Oselloka-Orakwue and launch of her book titled, “Society and Child”, at the premises of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Port Harcourt, last Saturday.
The deputy governor said author, through her television series, had mentored a lot of children and young adults over the years, which according to her, moulded the character of the children positively.
She noted that the society needs more of her type to continue to shape the character of the upcoming generation to help prevent moral decadence.
“We need more of this kind of mentoring she was doing on the programme, ‘Tales by Moonlight’, the Society and Child, the Young Adult Parliament as well as the other wonderful programmes she produced and directed
“We need more of her type, we are lacking people like her, that is why some times you see the society going astray”, Banigo further stressed.
Banigo said that the Governor Nyesom Wike-led administration has taken up the standardization of schools as part of deliberate efforts to ensure that quality education was provided for the citizenry, noting that the Real Madrid Football Academy in the state was ready to train the children with flair for sports in addition to formal education.
In her remarks, Pastor Nkem Oselloka-Orakwue explained the Aunty Nkem’s Children and Young People’s Foundation was set up to give succour to the less-privileged children, teenagers, young persons and the aged, victims of trauma, abuse and neglect who have been abandoned.
