RVHA Felicitates With Ibiyeomie At 57
Activities at the House were dominated by oversight functions and other activities by legislators.
Deputy Speaker Hon. Ehie Edison Ogerenye last Monday felicitated with the founding pastor of Salvation Ministries, David Ibiyeomie on his 57th birthday.
A statement from the office of the deputy speaker described the cleric as an uncommon leader who has brought succour to people through the gospel of Christ.
He prayed God to keep the cleric and strenghten him in the work to reach the oppressed and down trodden in society.
Last Wednesday, the House Committee on Works led by its Chairman, Hon. Michael Chinda, paid an oversight visit to Lubriks Construction.
He and other members of the committee intimated the firm on the need for social corporate responsibility and to ensure standards in its jobs.
Also within the week, member representing Oyigbo State Constituency, Promise Nwankwo, donated books and other writing materials to schools and pupils in the area.
Hon Nwankwo stated that the gesture was to improve on the quality of education and support government effort in providing learning materials to the pupils.
The Oyigbo born lawmaker challenged teachers and pupils to utilise the books and other writing materials to boost learning and teaching as a way to drive development.
Meanwhile, last Thursday, Majority Leader of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon Martin Amaewhule has lauded Governor of Rivers State,Chief Ezenwo Nyesom Wike over the flag off of the Okoro Nu-Odo flyover.
Amaewhule, who represents Obio /Akpor 1 in the State Assembly, said that the fly over when completed would enable free flow of traffic in the area.
The Majority Leader, who was among dignitaries who witnessed the official flag off of the fly over bridge construction last Thursday described Wike as a pro-people administrator.
He said that when completed, the bridge would ameliorate the plight of commuters around the axis.
He commended the governor for always keeping to his promises.
The project, which is to be handled by construction giant, Julius Beger Nigeria, is expected to be commissioned in sixteen(16) months time.
