Rivers Wrestling Boss Lauds Athletes On Performance

The Rivers State Wrestling coach, Eli Oyonomunede, has commended his team for their impressive performance at the recently concluded second edition of the wrestling competition tagged Niger Delta Wrestling Championship held in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
Coach Oyonomunede made the commendation yesterday during an interview with Tidesports in port Harcourt.
According to him, his athletes put up a great performance at the competition and added that no doubt they brought out the best in them to do the state proud.
“I’m so happy, the team clinched overall second at the competition. They did pretty good, we will do better at the forthcoming National Sports Festival  (NSF)tagged   ”Edo 2020″ come next year”
“This is part of our preparation for the NSF and we are preparing assiduously to ensure that we compete favourably when the chips are down,” Eli Oyonomunede said.
He however, urged the athletes to remain focused and be more committed to their preparation for the task a head, saying that early preparation is one major key to success.
The 3-day event had four States in attendance, Delta State, River State, Edo State Bayelsa State and a sports Academy  in Bayelsa State.
At the end of the competition, Bayelsa State cart away the first position, Rivers second,  and Delta third place, respectively.
