The Permanent Secretary, Rivers State Ministry of Information and Communications, Pastor Paulius Nsirim, said this during an advocacy visit on #OurStateOurResponsibility to the 6 Division of the Nigerian Army, and the Rivers State Police Command Headquarters, both in Port Harcourt, the state capital.

Nsirim said it was the responsibility of everyone living and doing business in Rivers State to see themselves as brand ambassadors of the state.

He said the state was blessed with human and natural resources, and regretted the activities of the vocal minorities who were painting the state black.

Nsirim said that #OurStateOurResponsibility advocacy programme was designed by the ministry to create harmonious relationship between the ministry and the various agencies in Rivers State.

In their various responses, both the General Officer Commanding 6 Division of the Nigerian Army, Port Harcourt, Maj-Gen Jamil Sarham, who was represented by Brig-Gen D. E. Etuk and the state Police Commissioner, Mustapha Dandaura, solicited for a harmonious relationship between the ministry, the military and security agencies in terms of dissemination of their activities.

Sarham, particularly said that the visit was coming at a time when the Division was preparing for another Operation Crocodile Smile aimed at securing the state for residents and investors, adding that the Division was also finalising plans for a medical outreach at Bolo in Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area of the state.

On his part, the state Police Commissioner, Mustapha Dandaura, who personally endorsed the campaign, solicited the support of the ministry in the area of giving wider publicity to the activities of the command.

Dandaura assured that the police would continue to ensure that crime was reduced to the barest minimum in the state.
