The Rivers State Chairman of the Labour Party, Prince Favour Rueben has hailed Governor Nyesom Wike for sending names of proposed Executive Council members to the Department of State Services, DSS for screening.
Prince Rueben, who is also the national Vice Chairman of the party stated this yesterday at the party Secretariat in Port Harcourt during a press briefing.
He also called on the governor to declare a state of emergency in agriculture in the state, saying that robust industrial  development and mechanised agriculture is the way to go.
Prince Reuben expressed commitment to the support the party had given to the governor, but regreted that the state government was commissioning markets and shops which according to him was the duty of the third tier of government.
“We are worried that at this digital stage of the world,we are busy spending huge sums of money commissioning markets and shops,” he said.
Continuing, Prince Rueben said, “The local government Chairmen should be responsible for schools’ renovations, markets and internal roads maintenance and projects”.
He further called on the governor to stick to his earlier promise of an inclusive government, irrespective of party differences.
Prince Rueben called on politicians, the organised private sector and all well meaning individuals of the state to put aside their political differences and support the governor to deliver dividends of democracy.
