King’s Football Tournament Kicks Off, Sunday
The second edition of Under 12-13 King’s Cup football tournament is set to commence on Sunday, at number six field, in Old Port Harcourt township, as preparations are on top gear.
The chairman of the organizing committee of the competition, Chika King disclosed this in an exclusive interview with Tidesports on Wednesday at Baptist High School Port Harcourt.
King, who is also the Head coach of King Football Academy (KFA) explained that screening of players will commence tomorrow, while the tournament will kick off on Sunday.
According to him, 12 teams are expected to participate in the competition, adding that the matches would be played only on Saturdays and Sundays and end in three weeks time.
“The competition is poised to catch them young and give them more knowledge of the game” King said.
He further explained that, the tournament is to discover the hidden talents among the upcoming young footballers.
He hinted that the first edition of the competition discovered a lots of players which they are doing well in the game today.
“We have learned a lot from the median edition and this second one is going to be awesome” he stated.
