Community Applauds LG Boss For Donating Buses To Vigilante Groups
The people of Odegu and Rundele Clans in Emohua Local Government Area of have commended the Council Chairman, Hon Tom Aliezi for his efforts towards restoring peace to all communities in the local government area.
The General Secretary , Rundele and Odegu Security Advisory Committee, Mr Raphael Weneka, made the commendation when he spoke with newsmen at the weekend in the area.
Mr Weneka who was particular about the two Siena buses to the clans vigilante groups by the chairman, said that it would help them in their efforts to flush criminal elements in the local Government and the entire state.
“ Chairman, the bus donation, will help us to ensure that the remaining notorious ones are flushed out of the local government area and Rivers States at large”, he said.
He attributed the gesture of the council boss to that of a promise keeper, and promised that, they would reciprocate the kind gesture of the chairman by showing commitment to their duty.
In his response, the council chairman, reiterated his determination to always support the groups and security agencies in the LGA.
Aliezi who spoke through his Chief of Staff, Mr Isaac Okankwu, said that the gesture was part of the council’s determination to ensure that peace reigned in all nooks and crannies of the LGA.
He also urged the people to continue with their good jobs, and stressed that the presentation of the buses was the beginning of what the local government planned to do towards the achievement of peace.
According to him, the action was also targeted at attracting investors to the LGA, and added that peace and security was key.
“ Our target is to ensure that the LGA attracts investors, and this can not be achieved without absolute peace and security”, he said.
The council boss was also of the view that the present administration was not ready to comprise any aspect including that of security, thus the need to support any meaningful venture.
Further, the Emohua Chief Security Officer, pointed out that security was every persons duty, and added that every hand must be on deck.
Earlier, he had thanked the elders and opinion leaders and youths of the area for their cooperation towards the success recorded especially at the East West Road.
It would be recalled that the East-West Road and other parts of the LGA greeted with criminal activities have been brought to a halt due to the efforts of the Emohua Council boss in conjunction with the River State Government.
